What fabrics are used for embroidery
From the type of cloth, embroidery needs to use these three kinds of fabrics: plant fiber cloth; animal fiber cloth, chemical fiber cloth.
1. Plant fiber cloth:
Plant fiber cloth is also what we usually call all kinds of pure cotton, linen and cotton and linen interwoven cloth. Generally soft and thin cotton cloth is suitable for making various small face towels, handkerchiefs, bread towels, small napkins, etc. The thicker and crisp cotton cloth is suitable for making large tablecloths, bedspreads, refrigerator cloths, pillow bags, etc.
2. Animal fiber cloth:
Animal fiber cloth includes silk, soft satin, georgette, cashmere, flannel ink ghost touch, pure woolen material and so on. Generally, silk soft satin is mostly used to make high-end pajamas, wedding curtains and other bedding, and is embroidered with pure silk thread.
3. Chemical fiber cloth:
Due to its low melting point, chemical fiber cloth is not as resistant to high temperature as cotton, linen and wool materials, so it is best not to use cotton thread or silk thread for embroidery on chemical fiber cloth. Chemical fiber cloth is more suitable for machine embroidery, ribbon embroidery, bead embroidery, sequin embroidery, etc.
